Overall: So… I waited a while to see this film and read all the reviews from my other movie snob friends. This film had an overall 98% “letdown” rating. I could’ve told you that the moment they casted Ben Affleck as Batman…but whatever. Going into the film, I went in with my standards very low. With that being said, I left the film saying, “It was decent.” For what it’s worth, there are some really good parts. I really liked the incorporation of Wonder Woman – though I think it could’ve been included a little more smoothly and definitely delved into more. I also really loved the character of Lex – though, again, I don’t think it was delved into (which, yes, I know was probably intentional for future films). I didn’t like the “bad blood” between Superman and Batman… it just seemed poorly set-up/developed, which would be on the writer’s end of the film. There were also a few parts I didn’t quite grasp – particularly Lex’s “evil plan.” Overall, I gave it a 6 (like giving someone an “A for effort”).
