Overall: I finally got around to watching this film! First, as much as I love the Fast & Furious franchise, I definitely think they should’ve stopped after the second one—at best. Second, this was extremely emotional watching since Paul’s death (but I always find it strange and depressing to watch dead actors’ films). Now, onto the actual review of the film…it was decent. It wasn’t as unbelieveable as the sixth film, but there were definitely some problems with the plot, stunts and character development. For example, the part where Dom is on the brink of death and they’re doing CPR—but then Letty’s little “speech” somehow brings him back to life is overly cliché and unrealistic. Also, the fight scenes are extremely unrealistic. I realize that at best, there’s adrenaline but there’s no way these people could survive all these blows. Like in the beginning when Hobbs is ejected out the window of a 10+ floor building from an explosion and lands on a parked car below. Yet all he does is break an arm and leg—mind you he breaks his cast later in the film by simply flexing his BROKEN arm?!
