Starring: Rupert Friend, Thomas Kretschmann, Zachary Quinto, Hannah Ware, Ciarán Hinds
Plot: An assassin teams up with a woman to help her find her father and uncover the mysteries of her ancestry (IMDB.com).
Overall: First of all, I didn’t know this was based off of a game—my boyfriend informed me of this. I have seen the first film and loved it. So as I review this one, I’m reviewing it solely as film and in no comparison to the game. There were some obvious plot shortcomings and missing details, but overall it had a great balance of funny moments, intense action scenes and a great cast of actors. I think this is by far, Zachary Quinto’s best film. He plays a bada—villain in this film and with such crispness. Ciarán Hinds’ role was typical of him and I think he did a great job playing his part. Rupert Friend was an alright agent (character, not the actual actions he does in the film)—I think there’s only one part in the film where you finally appreciate his character, but the way it was presented in the film offered little opportunity for the audience to appreciate it.
