The Best of Me (2014)

the best of me

Starring: James Marsden, Michelle Monaghan, Liana Liberato, Luke Bracey, Gerald McRaney

Plot: Dawson and Amanda meet as teenagers, but they live in two different worlds that seemingly cannot coexist. The two eventually part separate ways after Dawson runs into some law trouble. Twenty years later, they’re reunited when an their father-like figure dies.

Rating: 4/10

Overall: Well…I don’t really know what to say other than this film is sort of like a spinoff of The Notebook meets Safe Haven. It’s the epitome of a Nicholas Sparks’ book to film adaptation. It’s sappy, tragic, and predictable. It’s not terrible by any means, if you love Nicholas Sparks and chick flicks.
