Oldboy (2013)

Starring: Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley, Samuel L Jackson

Plot: Obsessed with vengeance, a man sets out to find out why he was kidnapped and locked into solitary confinement for 20 years without reason (IMDB.com).

Rating: 8/10

Overall: I heard very mixed reviews about this film, so I decided to watch it myself and develop an opinion about it. I was pleasantly surprised at how decently put together it was. It was hard to get into and enjoy for the first half or so, but it was quite interesting. The end was sort of a twist (can definitely figure it out before the characters do if you pay close attention to details) and delicately crafted to near perfection. The originality was quite refreshing. There were some parts that were kind of bleh and unnecessary, but overall, it was a fairly great film!
