Out of the Furnace (2013)

Starring: Christian Bale, Woody Harrelson, Casey Affleck, Willem Dafoe, Zoe Saldana

Plot: After his brother, Rodney (Affleck) goes missing and law enforcement not working in his favor, Russell (Bale) takes matters into his own hands to seek justice.

Rating: 2/10

Overall: Huge fan of the entire cast, but unfortunately whoever wrote this needs to work on the “falling action” of the plot. The beginning was rather slow, but once it picked up and built to the “turning point,” it was really good. But after the turning point, it went downhill…and not in the way it’s supposed to “fall.” There was a rushed “solution/ending” that seemed more of a copout than an ending at all. I was utterly disappointed with the ending, and it’s hard to go into more detail than that without giving away spoilers. If you’re wanting to see this film because of the stellar cast, I can assure you, it is one of the worst showcases of all their talent.
