Starring: Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikucha, Charlie Day, Burn Gorman, Max Martini, Robert Kazinsky
Plot: Alien/monsters, Kaiju, have been attacking Earth for many years. As a result, the humans have created their own machines, Jaeger, which are used to fight back and operated by two pilots who are connected to each other’s brains. With the Jaeger built, the humans fight to prevent an alien/monster apocalypse as they have progressively evolved.
Overall: The ending was a little…lame. I don’t know the real word I’m looking for, but it was the kind of ending where you sit there and go, “Seriously?” Overall though, this film was surprisingly good! I am not into Sci-Fi at all, but leave it to Guillermo del Toro to change my mind. To me, this film was kind of like Avatar meets Pan’s Labyrinth. Great effects, amazing actors and a decent film with really well-developed plot (minus the ending)! Definitely recommend it even if you despise Sci-Fi films!
